Perth Stadium

 

Perth has a new multi-purpose stadium located in Burswood on the shores of the Swan River.

The new Perth Stadium with have a seating capacity for 60,000 people, positioning the stadium to be the 3rd largest in Australia.

In June 2011 the State Government approved the construction of the new Perth Stadium for the Burswood location.
A venue suited for hosting sports and entertainment events such as concerts.

Construction began in 2014 with an estimated construction cost of $1 Billion. The official opening is scheduled for 21 January 2018.

The new Perth Stadium with have a new train station and pedestrian bridge for people to attend the venue and avoid the hassle of traffic and parking.
A new car park will not be built for the stadium with attendees expected to use public transport of park in the city and walk over the pedestrian bridge.

The previous stadium at Subiaco Oval was originally built in 1908, with periodic upgrades to the venue such as two-tiered stands and lighting towers. When the venue was closed in 2017 Subiaco Oval could cater for a seating 43,500 people and was the 9th largest in Australia.
